Annual Scottish North American Leadership Conference, October 22-24, 2010

CHICAGO SCOTS - Nourishing Scottish identity through service, fellowship and celebration of Scottish culture

The Illinois Saint Andrew Society and The American-Scottish Foundation® are delighted to announce the 2010 Scottish American Leadership Conference,
the theme of which is "Scottish American 2.0: Our faces are changing but our values remain."

The conference will be on Friday, October 22nd through Sunday, October 24th at The Scottish Home, 2800 DesPlaines Avenue, North Riverside, IL. 60546.

The conference hotel is the Renaissance Hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois. A block of rooms have been reserved for the conference. Rooms are $89 per night.

Tickets for the conference and the banquet held on Friday night are only $100 per person. Tickets are also avaliable for the banquet only or the conference for only $50.

Tickets to the event are now available here.

The Conference is an outgrowth of seven prior conferences that the two sponsoring Scottish-American societies have run. Inspired by the platform that these conferences have provided for establishing the kind of long term relationships between Scotland and the Scottish-American community that this conference seeks for Scotland and its Diaspora, the Conference's structure has been designed to offer attendees a variety of networking and informational exchange opportunities.

This year's conference will focus on the following areas:

- Connecting to and delivering relevance to the next generation in the Scottish American Community.
- New communications techniques and technologies - putting the web and social networking tools to best use.
- Exploring opportunities for independent Scottish American Societies to come together as a National Association for mutual benefit.
- Fundraising for Scottish American service projects.
- Highland Games and Scottish Festivals - keys to success.
- A Review of 2009's Homecoming initiative.
