Scottish Independence - demystifying the Referendum

The University of Aberdeen Foundation invites American Scottish Foundation members to a reception in the Pool Room and Garden at the River Club, 447 East 52nd Street, New York. Professor Michael Keating, Professor of Politics at Aberdeen and Director of the Scottish Centre for Constitutional Change will take part in a question and answer session on the coming referendum on independence from the United Kingdom called by the Scottish government for September 18, 2014. 

Professor Keating is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, The British Academy and the Academy of Social Sciences. He has published widely on Scottish politics, European politics and public policy. He will be assisted by BBC radio broadcaster Rhod Sharp, who is the current Foundation president.

The evening will also afford an informal chance to find out more about the work of the Foundation and to hear from Aberdeen's Dean for North America, Professor Bill Naphy about opportunities for U.S. students to study there.
